Sometimes my girls make me so proud that my heart almost bursts with love.
We headed to the girls’ favourite park this morning which has a mini scramble net – small enough for toddlers to manage. It’s been an obsession of Lyra’s for many months but Ellie has been unsure about it. She has little legs and unlike her troublesome sister, wasn’t born climbing. She also tends to exercise a little more care and caution than her big sister (hurrah!). But this morning she was eyeing up the scramble net and making tentative moves towards giving it a go. I was going to give her some encouragement when Lyra stepped in instead saying. ”Ellie do it. Me hold it, not wobbly” and proceeded to hold on to a completely irrelevant part of the play equipment, convinced she was holding the scramble net steady for her sister to make her ascent.
After a couple of false starts and a few wobbles, Ellie made it to the top. ”Me did it!” she exclaimed with a smile from ear to ear whilst Lyra (and Mummy, and Daddy) gave her a big round of applause accompanied by Lyra chanting “Ellie did it! Ellie did it!”
It sounds like a little thing, but to me it’s huge. I love watching my not-twins grow an ever stronger bond and egg each other on. Bless them!

Aw bless! I had a wee lump too! Well done. Not too poor parenting at all
